Red & Green for Olympic Gold

We would like to thank Joyce & Zohura from Tower Hamlets Council for choosing our company to impress their American guests. The event is a buffet breakfast for at a forthcoming Olympic planning meeting, after much debate we decided to fly the flag & opt for as many British style buffet items as we could, this is what we eventully came up with:

  • mini bagels with Scottish smoked salmon with dill, cream cheese & lemon.
  • Our veggie version of the above was to top the mini bagel with roasted peppers & cream cheese (v)
  • Crispy bacon & quails egg tartlets - as near to an English breakfast in a tartlet as we manage
  • mini toasts with slow roasted tomatoes & with garden herb cheam cheese (v) tomatoes nicley slow roasted for extra sweetness on a mini toast with some herby cream cheese = Veggie satisfaction
  • mini toasts with English fresh scallops Creme Frashe & sweet Thai chilli sauce, - yes I know about the creme fraishe & the sweet Thia chilli sauce, but this canape style nibble works so well with this tasty combo and Britain is a great multicultral society!
  • Mushroom Lincolnshire sausage cheddar & thyme pastry rolls, - these are just great and there is no doubting it's British origin!
  • English cheddar, chive & spring onion rolls (v) - Melt in your mouth good, proper English cheddar mixed with subtle chives & crunchy spring onions, in a flaky puff pastry - what's not to like?

  • Sweet
  • Filo yogurt & fresh fruit tartlets - a simple low fat option infused with a bit of vanilla & English honey for sweetness
  • Mini Victoria sponge cakes - just for fun invented and named after one of our greatest monarchs and they taste great
  • mini Apple turnovers - slightly retro, but work well (kentish Bramley apples of course)
  • Fresh fruit skewers with chocolate dipped strawberries

There- with a bit of an artistic licence & not a flaky French Croissant, American Muffin or Danish pastry in sight, a Tasty British Breakfast buffet!
